Staff not trained and not as pet friendly
Staff was not friendly. Then they charged my credit card for the full room after I already paid in advance. Then I was informed I have to pay $75 for having a pet. This was never mentioned when booking the room.

Capital is 2 miles away
Location was good. But still a few miles away from the historic district and the capital. It’s quiet and right down the road from restaurants.

This hotel is very clean. The mattress was very uncomfortable . There was no protective mattress pad. The staff can make or break a hotel stay. Unfortunately, none of the staff (3) we encountered seemed happy. No smiles, no friendly greetings. We have always loved Residence Inns and we have stayed at this one in the past (pre-pandemic) had great experiences but not this time, sadly.

I Perfect Getaway
I had an incredible stay at Residence Inn Marriott Dover! The highlights for me were the cozy fireplace, the relaxing hot tub, and the beautiful pool — all perfect for unwinding.
What truly set this experience apart was the exceptional customer service. From the front desk team to maintenance and hospitality, everyone went above and beyond to ensure my comfort and satisfaction. Their warmth and professionalism made me feel right at home.

My room was great. The only problem I had was the breakfast buffet the food was cool so I had to take it to my room to warm it up.
